After School Classical Ballet

Riverwood Classical School offers three after school classical ballet classes. All classes are open to children who do not attend RCS. The pre-kindergarten class is offered for girls not yet of kindergarten age. Grammar Ballet 1 is offered for children of grammar school age who have little or no experience in ballet. Grammar Ballet 2 is offered for students of grammar school age with some experience in ballet. These classes focus on learning the fundamentals of ballet technique, which is the foundation for many other forms of dance. The instruction includes flexibility training, barre exercises, and center work. The students also learn some of the history of ballet, as well as the meanings of the French terms used to describe ballet movements.

Classes meet in the sanctuary of Riverwood Presbyterian Church. The classes are scheduled for the following times:

Pre-Kindergarten Ballet meets Tuesdays from 1:45-2:15 p.m.

Grammar Ballet 1 meets Tuesdays from 3:00-3:45 p.m.

Grammar Ballet 2 meets Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45 p.m.
